Creating an Airbnb Games Room
Posted by Commercial Supplies on 30th Nov 2023
Who doesn’t love games? There is nothing more memorable for guests than having entertainment. Believe it or not, this is where the jackpot is to have guests come back or refer family and friends!
Did I mention the free publicity when they post about playing games on their social media? This is always an attraction feature for parents with kids to keep them busy, let alone the kids wanting to come back and visit!
Step 1: Set the scene.
Comfortable Seating – Invest in comfortable options. These can be beanbags; they can be snuggly ones for indoor or water resistant for outdoor seating. If there are already benches and seats available, add some chair pads. Don’t be afraid to add some kid’s animal rocking chairs to give it that homely feel.
Step 2: Select your games.
Diverse game options – offer variety to cater to different preferences. Include classic board games, card games, and outdoor sports games. Giant Connect Four is always a hit with every age group if you have some space outside!
Interactive Games – Consider interactive games like giant Jenga, wooden Kubb set, portable badminton, corn hole, etc. This adds a social element encouraging guests to engage with each other!
*Current Summer Trend* - Pickleball! A game that only requires pickleball and paddles. This can be played on indoor or outdoor courts and is suitable for any skill level. It’s basically like tennis or badminton but just a bit easier so everyone can get involved!
Step 3: Decorate. Decorate. DECORATE!
Themed Décor – Enhance the atmosphere of plain walls with wall art and posters to help the room come to life.
Comfortable lighting – Can’t play games in the dark! Install comfortable lighting that doesn’t strain the eyes. This helps create a safer and more welcoming atmosphere for families. Don’t be afraid to be bold! Take this opportunity to add some colour, with some cool LED lighting or outdoor solar lanterns which are so easy to use.
Step 4: Maintenance and Cleanliness
Regular Checks – Schedule regular checks to ensure all games are in good working condition.
Cleaning Supplies- Ensure you have the right cleaning maintenance supplies to ensure tidy areas for guests to use and play. Provide cleaning supplies for guests to use in the games room (or all rooms) just in case!
A well-curated games area can turn an ordinary stay into a memorable one! By combining comfort, entertainment, and thoughtful design, you’re not just providing a place to sleep but a full homely experience your guests will be wanting to come back for.
